5 Full-time 3 days ago Full Job Description JOB North Carolina Office of Recovery & Resiliency is fully funded on grants and positions will be maintained as long as funding is available.
The position is EHRA, which means it is exempt from the rules and regulations of the NC Office of Human Resources Act (GS126), except for Articles 6 and 7 of that Chapter, due to state statutory and/or funding requirements.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
This position may require the selected candidate to report to the office as needed.
Selected candidate will need to adhere to North Carolina's Vaccination policy for State employees.

The Construction Field Inspector position assists in conducting daily, weekly and/or monthly inspections for single-family housing program projects including but not limited to rehabilitation, reconstruction, elevation and manufactured housing units (MHU), the buyout program's demolition projects, and the small rental program.
The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting pre-construction walk-throughs with the General Contractor (GC) and homeowner, as well as, enforcing the GC's site safety plans and Green Building/Energy Star checklist verification.
The Construction Field Inspector will be responsible for monitoring permit and code inspections, track the status of GC projects to ensure project timelines are met and review / verify general contractor field change orders.
The selected candidate will also ensure GC follows program standards and HUD compliance policy and procedures.

Working knowledge of the principles and practices of residential or commercial construction Working knowledge of Xactimate or comparable software Experienced in researching Federal Regulations and assisting in the generation of housing policies and standard operating procedures MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES:
Experience in construction of residential, institutional and commercial facilities Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree an appropriately accredited institution and at least two (2) years of related experience in construction and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
MANAGEMENT PREFERENCE:
Necessary Special Qualification may require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
